At the S.W.A.T. Triathlon one of the participants was the owner of Hamburg Hop Company. He left a bunch of business cards in case anyone in the club was interested in purchasing hops from his company. He has Chinook and Cluster hops.
S.W.A.T. BEER Team
The JayHops S.W.A.T. BEER team: Pamela, Keith, Rob, and Philip.
It was a balmy 90º+ this year, unlike last year when it was pouring rain.
Bob Katzenberger reported there were 191 entrants this year, up from 120 or so last year. This is the 3rd year for the event.
We went through an entire keg of Boulevard Wheat Beer and probably 1/2 a keg of Boulevard Pale Ale. Boulevard Brewing Company donated the BEER and provided the CO2, jockey box, ice tubs, and cups.
Notes for next year: bring an E-Z-Up, more ice, chairs, paper towels, and the JayHops banner. Also if we can it would be better to setup across the street next to the scoring truck. That way the sun is at our backs.
